Abstract: A metrology system combining three laser speckle measurement techniques for simultaneous determination of 3D shape and micro- and macroscopic deformations is presented. While microscopic deformations are determined by a combination of Digital Holographic Interferometry (DHI) and Digital Speckle Photography (DSP), macroscopic 3D shape,

This is accomplished with holographic interferometry, wherein interferometry is carried out with holographically generated wavefronts. A speckle pattern is generated when an object with a rough surface is illuminated with a highly coherent source of light such as laser.

speckle depend on the parameters of a probe laser beam, the characteristics of the reŒecting surface, and the proper-ties of the optical system used for illumination and detection. To optimise the parameters of a laser beam, a focusing system, and a photodetector, it is necessary to have information on the basic parameters of the speckle pattern.

Laser Interferometry and Holography are well-established, highly sensitive techniques for non-destructive testing and analysis. These techniques can be usefully applied in the field of Historical and Cultural Heritage conservation, for reconstruction of 3D structure of the object under observation and its deformation under stress. Speckle interference patterns need in any case a kind of further decoding step in order to become a source of useful information.

In this work, an X-ray nanobeam of a free-electron laser was generated using reflective KB focusing optics combined with speckle interferometry. The speckle profiles generated by 2 nm platinum particles were systematically investigated on a single-shot basis by changing the alignment of the multilayer KB mirror system installed at the SPring-8 Angstrom Compact Free-Electron Laser, in combination with computer simulations.

Speckle interferometry is a density sensitive line-of-sight flow visualization techniques which allows simultaneous quintitative measurements of deflection angles of the laser light passed through the flow [1]. Digital versions of PIV and speckle interferometry (SI) improve significantly the possibilities of the techniques [1, 2]. In this work, the possibility to use of a speckle interferometry method as a basis for the tracking system of cornea structural changes at thermal influence of a nondestructive laser radiation is considered. Also for a cornea, the polymeric phantom was picked up . A new experimental technique has been devised to measure residual stresses in ductile materials with a combination of laser speckle pattern interferometry and spot heating. The speckle pattern interferometer measures in-plane deformations while the heating provides for very localized stress relief. Experiments using a pulsed ruby laser to detect the movement of an object surface are reported.
